Washington has not enacted an age-gating statute in any of the four families as of this date. A 2025-2026 bill to require age verification for adult content websites (HB 2112, the Keep Our Children Safe Act) did not survive its 2026 committee cutoff. Companion bills that would have required social media platforms to verify age and limit addictive features for minors (SB 5708, HB 1834) passed the Senate in 2025 but failed in the House, and stalled again in the 2026 session. No app store accountability act or age appropriate design code bill has advanced past committee.
