The District of Columbia has not enacted an age verification, social media minor access, app store, or design code statute as of July 2026. The DC Attorney General has instead used the District's existing consumer protection law to sue Meta in 2023 and TikTok in 2024, alleging their platforms are designed to be addictive to children, but no dedicated age gating legislation is currently on the books or moving through the DC Council.
