Suriname has no adult-content age-verification law, social-media minor-access restriction, app-store age-verification requirement, or age-appropriate design code.
Article 293 of the Wetboek van Strafrecht (Penal Code), as revised by the law of 30 March 2015 (S.B. 2015 no. 44), criminalises distributing, publicly exhibiting, producing, importing, possessing, or acquiring an image of a sexual act involving a person who has apparently not yet reached the age of eighteen, including obtaining access to such an image by means of an automated work or a communication service, with imprisonment of up to eight years and a fifth-category fine.
That article punishes the person who commits the offence; it does not impose an age-verification or age-gating duty on a publisher or platform.
