San Marino

National jurisdiction · as of 2026-09-06

San Marino has no adult-content age-verification law, social-media minor-access restriction, app-store age-verification requirement, or age-appropriate design code as of this date.

Law No. 211 of 5 December 2014 on publishing and the profession of media operators requires the Code of Conduct for Media Operators to address the protection of minors and other physically and socially disadvantaged persons, but this is a professional journalism-ethics standard rather than a duty on a service to verify or gate a user's age, and it does not bind a provider or publisher outside the licensed press and media-operator profession.

Law No. 171 of 21 December 2018 on the protection of personal data separately prohibits, at article 75, publishing or disseminating news or images identifying a child involved in legal proceedings, but that duty attaches to personal data about a specific class of minor rather than establishing age verification or age-gating for a service generally (see the privacy topic for that instrument).

No statute or reported decision imposing an age-verification or age-gating duty of the kind the four registered law families describe has been identified.
