Solomon Islands

National jurisdiction · as of 2026-09-05

Solomon Islands has no adult-content age-verification law, social-media minor-access restriction, app-store age-verification requirement, or age-appropriate design code.

The Child and Family Welfare Act 2017 (No. 3 of 2017) establishes a child-protection and welfare administration system, covering reporting of concerns, care and protection orders, and adoption consent, but its text contains no reference to the internet, an online service, or an age-verification or age-gating duty on a service provider.

The Penal Code (Amendment) (Sexual Offences) Act 2016 (No. 3 of 2016) criminalises producing, possessing, or distributing child exploitation material and related conduct against a child, defined for that offence as a person under fifteen years of age, but it imposes no age-verification or age-gating duty on a publisher or platform; its offences run to the person who commits the underlying conduct, not to a service's access controls.
