Nicaragua has no adult-content age-verification law, social-media minor-access restriction, app-store age-verification requirement, or age-appropriate design code. Ley No. 287, Codigo de la Ninez y la Adolescencia (1998), defines a nina or nino as a person who has not turned 13 and an adolescente as a person between 13 and 18, not yet turned 18, and sets Nicaragua's general child-welfare framework, but its text contains no reference to the internet or an online service.

Ley No. 1042, Ley Especial de Ciberdelitos, criminalizes using information and communication technologies to exploit a child, adolescent, or a person with a disability needing special protection in pornography, and separately criminalizes making sexual proposals to a person under 16 through those technologies, but neither provision imposes an age-verification or age-gating duty on a service provider; both punish the offender's own conduct.
