Egypt has not enacted an adult-content age-verification, social-media minor-access, app-store age-verification, or age-appropriate design code statute as of the visit date.

On 25 January 2026, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi publicly directed the government and parliament to fast-track legislation restricting children's use of mobile phones and social media platforms, and Egyptian parliamentary committees began consultations on the subject; in February 2026 Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a meeting reviewing measures to protect children and young people from harmful online content.
